This is usually our biggest (best attended) dance of the year, with many guests from other clubs in the area, as well as many of our past Presidents and former members in attendance.  We'd love to have every Sandpiper who can make it at this dance to celebrate our history and help welcome and share a square with our many visitors. </div> <bR> <div> Also in April, the Sandpipers will host the PSDA student-level dance on April 15, 2012 (all of the clubs rotate hosting the PSDA dances).  Those attending are asked to come help set up at 6:00 PM for the 6:30 PM dance, bring a snack to share, and stay to help put away tables and chairs at the end (8:45 PM).</div> <div> There are many other things coming up during the year, and we will keep you informed, hopefully with plenty of lead time, but most of all, we hope you find time to dance.</div> <div> See you in a square!</div> <bR> <div> Larry & Nancy Anderson</div> <bR> <bR> <div> <B>SANDPIPER JANUARY 2012 FLOWER POWER DANCE</B></div> <div> <IMG SRC="1704902c0.jpg" border=0 width="400" height="300" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="10" VSPACE="10"></div> <div> Greeters Kathy Knight and Linda Perry provided the perfect mix of 60's costumes and bubbly personalities to set the tone for our Flower Power dance on January 14, and caller Cliff Simpson, as usual, made the evening a blast for all attending.  Our new hospitality procedure worked out great.  Most Sandpipers whose last name falls in the first half of the alphabet remembered to bring a snack to share, and the variety was wonderful, with plenty of snacks for all attendees.  Some of the people with assigned tasks who couldn't attend had switched with others, and all went well. The weather was beautiful in the low 80's. We square danced to caller Hunter Keller along with the Speerys and Dibbles. There were international visitors from Australia, Japan, Canada and many states.  We Hula danced with the local Hawaiians.  Local square dance clubs provided great snacks and delightful hospitality. There was lots of dancing on what is arguably the best wooden dance floor in the world. We visited the Pearl Harbor Memorial and Naval Air Station; churches from the 1820's; museums; the most exciting beaches; scenic open spaces and bargain shopping. Many others have pictures of Hawaii to share. Hope to see you all there next year.
